WAHIAWA, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Pacific University played two under par team rounds to beat Chaminade in two dual matches on Monday.
 
In the first match in the morning at Mililani Golf Club, the Sharks posted a 3-under-par 285 to beat the Silverswords with a 318.
 
Sophomore Sarasit Prateepmongkol of Bangkok, Thailand/Ruamrudee International and senior Chad Vander Dussen of Rancho Murieta, Calif./Pleasant Grove toured the par 72, 6,587 yard Mililani Course in 2-under 70 to lead the Sharks.
 
Senior Masato Yoshitsugu of Aichi, Japan/Bluffton S.C. Heritage Academy carded an even-par 70, while senior Zach Kwan of Sacramento, Calif./Granite Bay posted a 1-over 73 and senior Chris McKnight of Wilton, Calif./Cosumnes Oaks put up a 3-over 75.
 
Chaminade's Jaren Nishimoto and Desmond Mello led the Swords with a 3-over 75.
 
In the second match in the afternoon at Leilehua Golf Course, the Sharks tallied a 4-under 284 to the Swords 318.
 
Vander Dussen, Prateepmongkol, Kwan and Yoshitsugu all fired 1-under 71 on the par 72, 6,724 yard Leilehua Course. McKnight was seventh with a 7-over 79.
 
CUH was led again by Nishimoto with a 2-over 74 and Mello with a 4-over 76
 
The Sharks next action is in the PacWest Conference Championships April 23-25 at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
