LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The Hawai'i Pacific University women put up a final round 326 to finish seventh in the 2019 PacWest Conference Championships that concluded Wednesday at the Wigwam Resort's Gold Course.
The Sharks finished the 54-hole event in seventh at 992, 15 strokes behind Hawai'i Hilo in sixth at 977 and 16 in back of Dominican in fifth at 976.
No. 16 Academy of Art won the team title by shooting a 301 for an 889, 20 shots in front of Biola at 909 and 40 ahead of Point Loma at 929. Holy Names was fourth at 953.
Senior
Lexandra So of West Covina, Calif./West Covina finished tied for 16th after firing the best round of the tournament for HPU, with a 5-over-par 77 on the par 72, 5927-yard Gold Course women's layout for a final score of 238.
Senior Pranisa "Mint" Chimsuti of Pathumtani, Thailand/Satit Bilingual School carded an 81 in the final round to finish at 247, while senior
Kaia Takaki from Honolulu/Kalani added an 82 to finish at 248.
Sophomore
Marli Koba of Seattle/Garfield posted a counting score of 88 on Wednesday, while finishing with a 274. Senior
Mika Walker of Honolulu/Kaiser carded a 90 to finish at 263.
Academy of Art's Anahi Servin won the individual title after a 1-over 73 in the final round to win by five strokes at 1-under 215. ART U's Biapor Khunsri and Point Loma's Alli Kim tied for second at 4-over 220. Kim shot an even-par 72 in the final round, while Khunsri slipped with a 4-over 76. ART U had all four scoring players in the top seven, and the fifth was 11th.
The season comes to an end for the Sharks with the close of the championships.
