BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Hawai'i Pacific University finished tied for 12th at the Western Washington Invitational at the Bellingham Country Club.
The Sharks posted a team score of 303 in the final round to tie with Cal State East Bay at 901 for 12th, one stroke better than Hawai'i Hilo in 14th at 902 after a 305 final round. The Sharks were 12 strokes behind Saint Martin's that posted an 889.

Minsu Lee of San Jose, Calif./Willow Glen, who toured the par 72, 6,561-yard Bellingham CC layout in 1-over-par 73 to finish tied for 38th at 222. Freshman
Blake Mullen of Overland Park, Kan./Olathe East bounced back with the Sharks second best round of the day at 2-over 74 to total 232.
Sophomore
Keli'iokalani Kamelamela-Dudoit of Ho'olehua, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama, slipped to a 5-over 77 for a 224 overall as the second low Shark. Junior
Ryan Torres of San Jose, Calif./Evergreen Valley carded a 79 in the final round for a 229, while sophomore
Sirasit Prateepmongkol of Bangkok, Thailand/Ruamrudee International collected an 81 for a 236.
Concordia Portland posted a phenominal 17-under 271 in the final round to win the team title with a 20-under 844, four strokes ahead of second place Simon Fraser who had a 13-under 275 for a 16-under 848. Stanislaus State and Chico State tied for third in the 18 team field at 860.
Host Western Washington's Ethan Castro took medalist honors in a playoff, defeating Simon Fraser's Isaac Lee on the second playoff hole. The pair went to the playoff after tying at 10-under 206. Lee fired a 6-under 66 to tie Castro who had a 2-under 70. The round of the tournament belonged to Chico State's Myoung Kim who fired an 8-under 64 to slide into third at 8-under 208.
The Sharks will be in action again on Monday, Sept. 30, when they host Chaminade in an a dual meet at the Leilehua Golf Course.
