AIEA, Hawai'i – For the second straight day, Hawai'i Pacific University and Chaminade finished in a tie, this time at 311, in dual match action on Tuesday afternoon at Pearl Country Club.
The teams tied at 314 on Monday.
The Sharks were paced by second year juniors
Ray Kim of Aiea, Hawai'i/Moanalua and
Ryan Torres of San Jose, Calif./Evergreen Valley who toured the par 72, 6,787 yard Pearl Country Club course in 5-over-par 77, one stroke behind in third.
Chaminade's duo of Desmond Mello and Jeren Nishimoto carded 4-over 76's to tie for first.
HPU second-year sophomore Keli'i Kamelamela-Dudoit of Ho'olehua, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama, tied for fifth with Chaminade's Colby Gunderson at 6-over 78.
The Sharks true freshman
Noah Daher of Cottonwood, Ariz./Mingus Union was next with a 7-over 79, while teammates senior
Tom Purcell of Liverpool, England/St. Mary's and sophomore transfer
Hasee Nazir of Orange, Calif./Orange Lutheran via Santiago Canyon CC, shot 80 each. Nazir played as an individual.
HPU also had individuals true freshmen
Isaac Kinsman of Vancouver, Wash./Prairie with an 82 and Nate Gani of Lanai City, Hawai'i/Lanai an 86.
Chaminade had Schuyler Peterson at 81, Kalani Frazier at 87 and Gavin Bedoya at 89.
The duals on Monday and Tuesday are the only contests for the two golf teams this fall.
