TEMPE, Ariz. – The Hawai'i Pacific University women's tennis team stayed eighth in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II Women's Tennis Rankings administered by Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The defending PacWest Conference Champion Sharks are 4-2 after sweeping all four matches played last weekend on the Big Island.
The top 10 remain unchanged from the preseason poll in January with defending national champion Barry (Fla.) sitting as a unanimous number one. National runner-up Lynn (Fla.) is second with national semifinalists Columbus State and Indianapolis third and fourth respectively.
Nova Southeastern, Saint Leo and West Florida are five through seven, with HPU eight ahead of Central Oklahoma and North Georgia.
In addition to the Sharks, the PacWest Conference is represented by Azusa Pacific up 13th, and Fresno Pacific entering the poll at 23rd. Academy of Art is receiving votes.
The Sharks are in action again next Tuesday when they visit Wichita Falls, Texas, to face No. 15 Midwestern State before playing in the ITA Division II Indoor Championships in Edmond, Okla. starting Friday, Feb. 28.
