TEMPE, Ariz. – The Hawai'i Pacific University men's tennis team fell two spots into a tie for No. 7 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II Men's Tennis Rankings administered by Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Sharks (1-1) moved slightly after dropping one of two matches at Hawai'i Hilo last month. HPU is tied with Valdosta State (Ga.) (4-0) for the seventh position, just behind Lander (S.C.) (7-0) in sixth and ahead of Azusa Pacific (4-2) in ninth.
Columbus State (Ga.) (6-0) remained the unanimous number one team receiving all nine first place votes, with Barry (Fla.) staying second and Saint Leo (Fla.) third. Indianapolis (6-1) moved up to fourth, with West Flordia (5-1) fifth.
The second five have Lander, HPU, Valdosta State, and APU with Lynn (Fla.) (1-0) 10th.
The PacWest, with HPU and APU in the top 10, is also represented by Hawai'i Hilo 15th, and Concordia Irvine 17th.
The Sharks will continue the season soon, with an updated schedule to be presented within the week.
