But in the Division II Sports Information Directors' poll, HPU fell from second nationally to 18th. The Sharks were ranked second in the region, behind Azusa Pacific at number seven.

Drury (Mo.) (24-2) was second in both polls. Lander (S.C.) (20-2) and Central Missouri (23-5) took the next two spots – with Lander third in the WBCA poll and Central Missouri third in the D2SIDA poll. Charleston (W.Va.) (19-3) was fifth in both polls.
