WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Pacific University senior
Marli Koba of Seattle, Wash./Garfield fired a 4-over-par 74 to tie the single round school record score on Tuesday in the second round of the 2021 PacWest Conference Golf Championships at the Waikoloa Beach Golf Course on the Big Island.
Koba of Seattle, Wash./Garfield, rounded the par 70, 5,915 women's layout at the Beach Course with two birdies, two bogeys and two double-bogeys for her 4-over 74 to sit in a ninth place tie after 36 holes at 11-over 151.
A career-best round, Koba equaled the single round record score of 74 set by Carly Farthing in the first round of the 2015 PacWest Championships and Mint Chimsuti in the second round of the 2018 PacWest Championships. Koba's 151 for 36 holes is a new record, bettering Chimsuti's 152 in the 2015 Dennis Rose Invitational, also at the Waikoloa Beach Course.

Cameron Kaneshiro of Kaneohe, Hawai'i/Hawai'i Baptist Academy is tied for 20th after carding an 81 for a 36-hole total of 163. Freshman
Megan Marty of Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain shot an 82 on Tuesday for a 174 total, while freshman
Kirsten Lindner of Glendora, Calif./Glendora improved with an 86 for a 176 total.
The Sharks posted a 323 team round on Tuesday, improving 18 strokes from Monday's opening round to sit in sixth place at 664. Holy Names is in fifth place at 642.
Point Loma leads the team championship after two rounds with a 601 after turning in the best round of the tournament at 294 on Tuesday. Academy of Art is second at 623, with Biola third at 625 and host Hawai'i Hilo fourth at 632. Dominican finished Tuesday's round with three players and could not get a team score.
Individually, two-time reigning champion Anahi Servin of Academy of Art fired a blistering 1-under 69 to lead the tournament at 1-over par 141. She's a stroke ahead of Holy Names Aubrey Corpuz who shot a 3-over 73 for a 2-over 142, and five strokes ahead of a third place tie between ART U's Plern Rattanaprakarn and Dominican's Claire Shubin at 6-over 146.
The final round of the championship is Wednesday starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Waikoloa Beach Course.
