One Remains for Sharks Men After Day Two of West Regional

GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. - The Hawaii Pacific University men's tennis team

Jakub Beran crushed his matches in the consolation bracket 8-0 and 8-2 to make his way to the C-semifinals. Cheng-Chieh Wang exited in the consolation round of 16 after an 8-2 loss.

In the main draw, Mile Matic battled through a close first set but lost 5-7 and could not find his groove in the second as he dropped 5-7, 6-0. Riku Ogasawara did not have much luck either, as he found himself on the other side of a 6-3, 6-2 defeat in the round of 16.

The doubles draw was an HPU vs.HPU matchup in the quarters, where Beran/Matic took down fellow Sharks Ogasawara/Wang 8-4. Beran/Matic matched up with one-seeded Leischner/Penzkofer and was locked into a battle that went into a tie-breaker. The Sharks were thwarted in the end 8-7.
