Women's Golf Cards 33-Over-Par First Round at Augustana Spring Fling

PALM DESERT, Calif. - The Hawaii Pacific University women's golf team completed day one at the Augustana Spring Fling Thursday afternoon at Desert Willow Golf Course.

The Sharks team combined for a 33-over-par round, 22 shots behind leader Grand Valley State.

Shuiyen He leads HPU scorers with her first-round 76 (+4), she sits four shots off the leader Minna Archer of Colorado State-Pueblo (E).

Kellie Yamane also scored in the 70's with a total 77 5-over-par round. Yamane recorded two birdies, and seven bogeys.

Hawaii remaining scorers kept it under 90 with Kameron Kwong T26 recording an 82, Clarrissa Burhan T36 carded an 86 and Lily Landt T41 with an 88. Only one individual for HPU made the trip this week with Kristen Lindnder also sitting T41 with an 88 in her first round.

Round two is set to tee off at 6 a.m. HT on Friday.
