9/4/2024 11:14:00 AM

Waipahu, HI – The Hawaii Pacific University women's soccer team fought to a 0-0 draw against Lewis & Clark in their second match of the season on September 1 at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. Coming off a loss in their season opener, the Sharks showed resilience and defensive strength to earn their first point of the season.

HPU controlled much of the game, leading in shots with ten attempts compared to Lewis & Clark's seven. However, despite creating several opportunities, the Sharks were unable to find the breakthrough goal. Their set-piece plays, including four corner kicks, were well-executed but ultimately did not result in a score.

Defensively, HPU put in a solid performance, with the backline ensuring that Lewis & Clark did not register a single shot on goal. The Sharks' defense, anchored by a cohesive unit, was able to neutralize the visitors' attack throughout the match.

The intensity of the match was highlighted in the 81st minute when HPU's Lauren Longworth received a yellow card. Despite this moment of tension, the Sharks maintained their composure and saw out the game without conceding.
