Personal: Ells was born and raised in Crestline, CA to parents Valerie and Rick…has two siblings, Cassie (25) and Richard (23)…hobbies include surfing, swimming, and sand castles…favorite movie is Space Jam…favorite musical artist is Lana Del Rey…favorite athletes are Pedro Martinez and Maria Sharapova…favorite food is applesauce…chose HPU for the opportunity to live in Hawai’i and play baseball…is majoring business and public relations…in 10 years Ells hopes to be on the beach in Hawai’i

Prior to HPU: Ells played baseball and basketball at Rim of the World High School where he won Athlete of the Year in 2011…later attended Palomar College where he played baseball under head coach Buck Taylor…he was selected as a Pacific Coast Conference Honorable Mention

HPU: 2016: Made 13 appearances...pitched 30.2 innings, allowed 12 earned runs, struck out 24 batters...posted a record of 1-2 with one save and a 3.52 ERA 2015: Made 13 appearances with one start...pitched 27 innings with 27 strikeouts, allowed nine earned runs...posted a 3.00 ERA with a record of 2-2 with two saves
