Honolulu, HI (January 7, 2013)-
Ieva Nagy scored 17 points and three other Sea Warriors had double-digit scoring nights as the Hawai'i Pacific women's basketball team (6-3,2-1) routed visiting Notre Dame de Namur (1-12,0-5) by the score of 84-58 at the Neil Blaisdell Center.
Both teams played even early as HPU only led 9-7 through the first four minutes. The Sea Warriors would make a statement after the first media time out,

Loren Gurrola for an open three-pointer sparking 21-2 over the next six minutes. The Argos would call timeout after
Mikela Thoemmes found Nagy for an open three that stretched the Sea Warrior lead to 27-9. HPU would close out the half strong, going on a 10-3 run capped by a
Skye Savini three-pointer on the Sea Warriors' last possession of the half, making the score 46-24 at the break.
The HPU women would finish the half shooting 51.5% from the field hitting 17 of 33 shots including 7 of 12 (58.3%) from behind the arc. Defensively the Sea Warriors held the Argonauts to 30% from the field on 9-30 shooting including holding NDNU scoreless from behind the arc.
The second half would see the Sea Warriors extend their lead and then hold on the rest of the way. HPU came out of the locker room on a 10-4 run that included five points from
Shianne Solomon. HPU's lead would hover around 30 points, falling to no less than 26, but getting no higher than 33 for the remainder of the game. The Sea Warriors hot shooting from behind the arc cooled off in the second half, only hitting 3 of 14 shots, but made up for it at the line, hitting 11 of 13 free throws. (84.3%)
The Sea Warriors had an extremely efficient night dishing out a total of 21 assists, including five from Anton, on 29 made baskets, while only turning the ball over a season-low 13 times. A total of 11 Sea Warriors saw the floor in the game, all registering double-digit minutes. Senior guard
Melody Ladrido added a season-high 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting while
Susannah Walmsley (12 points) and Solomon (10 points) rounded out the Sea Warriors double-figure scorers.

Reid Takatsuka commented after his team's second PacWest victory “I'm pleased with tonight's strong all around win; it was a total team effort. We still have a lot of work to do however, and we need to get better in order for us to compete at a high level in the PacWest.”
The HPU women return to action on Wednesday against Dominican University at 7:00 PM at the Neal Blaisdell Center.
