Box Score OAKLAND, HI (January 25, 2014)—The Hawai`i Pacific Women's Basketball Team closed out its road trip with a 91-72 victory over Holy Names in Oakland Saturday afternoon. The Sea Warriors move to 11-5 overall and 7-3 in the PacWest while the Hawks fall to 9-7 and 7-5 in conference.
HPU wasted no time taking a big lead pressuring the Hawks into turnovers and easy baskets early.
Veanne Navarro forced HNU to take a time out after a steal and layup giving her team a 15-3 lead just 6:44 into the first half. Another defensive stop and three-pointer by
Shianne Solomon coming out of the timeout made it 18-3 and the route was on.
HPU stretched its lead out to as many as 23 points in the second half after leading 40-24 at the break. The Hawks would get no closer than 13 as the Sea Warriors won going away, 92-71.
All 11 Sea Warriors would register a point in the game led by Solomon who had 26 to go along with four steals and three assists.
Morganne Comstock continued her double-double tear with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Sea Warriors will now head back to Oahu for a matchup against Azusa Pacific on February 1
st. Game time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Moanalua High School.
