Box Score AZUSA, CA (February 15, 2014)—The Hawai`i Pacific Women's Basketball Team (14-8, 10-6) dropped the second game of its mainland road trip 69-52 against Azusa Pacific (16-6, 14-2) on Saturday night.
The PacWest's second place team jumped on the Sea Warriors early, building an eight-point lead just five minutes into the game. HPU responded with a
Morganne Comstock jumper to cut the deficit to 22-19 with 5:54 to play in the first half. The Cougars answered with a run of their own, this time a 14-5 spurt that gave them a 12-point advantage at the break.
The Sea Warriors came out refocused for the second half cutting the Cougar lead to one just four minutes in. The game of runs continued however, with APU quickly jumping back out to a double-digit advantage and never looking back.
Comstock notched another double-double with 15 points and 15 boards as well as a team-high three assists.
Ieva Nagy came off the bench to add 11 points while Savini contributed 10 of her own.
HPU was held to a season-low 52 points, 25 points below its season average. The Sea Warrior's previous low was 63 against Fresno Pacific on January 23rd.
The Sea Warriors will conclude their road trip against California Baptist on February 17th.Â
