Box Score HONOLULU, HI (February 24, 2014)—The Hawai`i Pacific Women's Basketball Team (16-9, 12-7) picked up its second double-digit victory in three days, this time defeating Fresno Pacific (10-14, 10-8) by the score of 71-55. The victory gives HPU a one-game lead for the third seed in the PacWest Tournament with one game remaining.
The matchup was close early on as both sides struggled to get their offense going. Fresno held a two-point lead with 12:14 to play, but the HPU shooters began to find their rhythm.
Skye Savini buried a three-pointer with 9:06 to play in the half and
Ieva Nagy hit a jumper on the next possession for a five point lead. By the time
Shianne Solomon hit a three-pointer with 12 seconds remaining in the half, HPU had stretched its lead out to 10. FPU hit a layup with seven seconds remaining, but the Sea Warriors held an eight-point advantage at the break.
HPU carried its momentum into the second half taking a 16 point lead on a
Morganne Comstock layup with 14:40 remaining in the game. The lead got as big as 20 on another Solomon three-pointer with 4:24 to play as the Sunbirds could not mount a serious threat in the second half.
Savini closes her career at home with a game-high 18 points while fellow seniors Nagy and Solomon also had big games with 15 and 12 points respectively.

The Sea Warriors will close out the season and hope to lock up the three seed on March 1
st against UH Hilo on the Big Island. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
