Box Score LAIE, HI (February 7, 2014)—The Hawai`i Pacific Women's Basketball Team (14-6, 10-4) picked up another road victory on Saturday night, defeating BYU-Hawaii (2-17, 2-12) 84-66.
HPU jumped out to a big lead early, going up by as many as 21 points in the first half. The Seasiders had no answer for Sea Warrior center
Morganne Comstock who scored 19 of her 27 points in the first half.
The Sea Warriors pushed their lead out to 26 points with 8:14 to play in the second half with many of the reserves seeing time.
Comstock finished with yet another double-double after grabbing 14 rebounds to go along with her game-high 27 points.
Laken McClelland had a solid night off the bench for HPU with 15 points, five steals, and three assists.
Shianne Solomon (16) and
Veanne Navarro (10) were the other Sea Warriors in double figures with Solomon also adding a team-high six assists.
The Sea Warriors now head to Southern California for a three-game set beginning with Point Loma on February 13
th in San Diego. Tip off is scheduled 5:30 p.m. PST.
