Softball Sweeps Silverswords

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WAIPIO, HI (March 22,2014)-The Hawai`i Pacific Women's Softball Team (13-15, 13-11) swept a doubleheader with Chaminade (7-13, 6-10). The Sea Warriors took game one 8-3 and emerged victorious in game two 7-6.
 
HPU jumped on the Silverswords early, scoring three runs in the first two innings.
 
Dorian Acierto had a two-RBI single in the first inning and Kristen Caskey followed with an RBI-single in the third to make it 3-0 Sea Warriors.
 
Caskey added a two-run double in the sixth as part of a three-run inning as HPU coasted to an 8-3 win.
 
HPU answered the call early again in game two, scoring two runs on a Chandell Dacosin double in the first inning.
 
Chaminade took a 3-2 lead in the second inning, but the Sea Warriors answered with three more runs in the third.
 
The 'Swords retook the lead in with two runs in the fifth, making the score 6-5.
 
Chelsea Cramer tied the score for HPU with an RBI in the sixth inning and Charisse Tanabe provided what would prove to be the game winning hit in the seventh as the Sea Warriors took game two 7-6.
 
Dacosin picked up the victory in game one giving up just three runs on ten hits. Caskey got the win in game two giving up five earned runs on 10 hits.
 
Caskey also added four RBI from the batters box and added two runs scored while Dacosin had three RBI on a four-hit day.
 
The Sea Warriors will next face BYU-Hawii in Laie on March March 29th. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
