Hawaii Pacific University Athletics

Personal: Born on Kauai, Zalopany came to HPU to return home to Hawai’i after playing her prep ball in Washington. Zalopnay comes from a large family headed by her parents Lisa and Leonard Zalopany. She has six siblings: Carrie (38) Shana (34) L.Z (25) Kane (24) Hannah (16) and Kelii (9). Nicknamed “Kuu,” she is an aspiring journalist and will major in journalism at HPU. She is a Harry Potter fanatic and enjoys gumbo, Kings of Leon, and athlete Blake Eliingsen.  

Prior To HPU: Zalopany was a stand-out at Mead High School in Spokane, Washington where she was named to the 4A State All-Tournament Team. In the quarterfinals of the 2010 State Tournament Zalopany led Mead to victory with 21 kills, 20 digs and six aces.  She was also selected 1st team all-conference two years in a row and 1st team all-state once.
