Box Score HONOLLU, HI (December 6, 2014) – The Hawai'i Pacific Women's Basketball Team (6-1, 2-0) handled UH Hilo (2-4, 1-1), for the eighth consecutive time, by the score of 99-65 on Saturday afternoon at the Neal Blaisdell Center.

The visiting Vulcans started off hot and led for the first five minutes of the game, however, after that it was a landslide in favor of the Sharks. A quick 9-1 run after the game was tied gave HPU an 18-10 lead with 12:41 left in the opening half. UH Hilo responded and retied the game at 31 with 5:49 to go. HPU outscored the opposition 21-6 to close the half with a 52-37 advantage.

The first nine points of the second half all belonged to the Sharks which essentially ended the game. The Vulcans did not get to within 20 points for the rest of the afternoon. The HPU lead reached 30 points on a basket by Taylor Blake with 9:41 left. With 3:03 to play, HPU earned a 38 point lead, the biggest of the day.

HPU completely dominated the boards winning that battle 49-25. Morganne Comstock almost equaled the entire output of the visitors as she snared 16 rebounds. Freshman Jessi Reeves added eight boards.

Comstock also added 22 points, while Kylie Huerta had game-highs in points (24) and assists (7). Breanna Mackenzie continued her strong freshman campaign with 13 points and four dimes.

The two teams will play again in a week on December 13th in Hilo.
