Prior To HPU: A graduate of Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu...lettered in baseball under Coach Dunn Muramaru...awarded Second-Team ILH and Third-Team All-State.
HPU: 2013: Begins fourth season.
2012: Played and started in 46 games...averaged .361 with 25 runs, four doubles, 23 RBI, nine walks, and five stolen bases.
2011: Tamaru played in 43 games; starting 41…he hit .300 with three doubles and 25 runs…was 10-11 in stolen bases…had eight infield assists against UH-Hilo on April 15th.
2010: Was named to the All-PacWest First Team as a thrid baseman. He played in 46 games for the Sea Warriors, starting all but three...was ranked fifth in three major offensive categories: batting average (.374), on base percentage (.427) and runs batted in at 30...had 13 multi-hit performances including two 3-4 performances.
