Box Score HONOLULU, HI (February 28, 2015) – The Hawai'i Pacific Women's Basketball Team (23-4, 18-2) used a huge second half to blowout visiting Holy Names (2-26, 1-19) on Senior Day at Moanalua High School. The Sharks outscored HNU by 41 in the second half alone to earn the 96-45 win.

HPU led the game from wire-to-wire and was never tied, yet the Hawks hung in the opening half. A HNU three-pointer with 8:03 left in the first half trimmed HPU's lead to 24-20. The Sharks were able to regain control and push the advantage to 10 at the half (39-29).

A different HPU team came out of the locker room in the second half and absolutely buried the Hawks. The Sharks opened the half on an amazing 24-0 run, in over seven minutes of play, to put the game away.

HPU shooters were unconscious in the second half, shooting a video-game-like 22-38 (57.8%) from the field. The Sharks also utilized the long ball, going 8-16 (50%) in half number two.

All five Shark starters had big games. Senior Kylie Huerta was tied for game-high scoring with 22 points to go along with 10 assists and six rebounds. Veanne Navarro could hardly miss, going 9-12 from the floor including three triples for 22 points. Breanna Mackenzie also had a good game with 15 points and added four rebounds and four steals. Morganne Comstock stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and four steals. Chenise Peone was also an impact player, especially on defense, with 12 points, six rebounds, four assists, five blocks and four steals.

Huerta, Comstock, and Peone were honored before the game and then played their last game in front of the home crowd.

HPU now turns its focus towards the PacWest Tournament. The top seeded Sharks have a bye in the opening round and will play the winner of #4 Azusa Pacific vs. #5 Academy of Art on Friday (March 6th) at 1:45 pm PST in Irvine, CA.
