Biography

Brooklynn Bernal returns to the Sharks for her second year from Las Vegas, Nevada. The 5-foot-3 flyer and tumbler is pursuing a degree in Marine Biology at Hawai'i Pacific.

Bernal competed on HPU's stunt team as a freshman and now competes on both the cheer and stunt teams. She came to HPU after attending Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, where she competed in acrobatics as a base and flyer under coach Ross Gibson. She was a 2023 Pan American gold medalist and a gold medalist at the 2024 and 2025 National Championships. She also won gold at the 2025 Region 1 competition and silver at the Vegas Acro Cup in 2024 and 2025.

Bernal chose HPU because she loves the ocean and couldn't imagine a more perfect opportunity to start her career in Marine Biology. In her free time, she enjoys hand balancing, shopping, doing her nails and napping. Looking ahead, she hopes to be happily married with kids and a big farm. She is the daughter of Thandi and Alexander and has a stepfather, Rob. She has brothers AJ and Caleb, a sister, Alexa, and step-siblings Rob Jr. and Alahna.
