Kylan Kochi joins the Sharks cheer team in her first year from Mililani, Hawai'i. The 5-foot-2 athlete is pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in General Business at Hawai'i Pacific.

Kochi comes to HPU after attending Mililani High School, where she competed in competition cheer under coach Amber Sistoza-Awong and earned one JV letter and two varsity letters. She served as head program captain, was named the varsity team's MVP and received the school's Leadership Award and Heart of the Team Award. She was also a two-time All-American, selected by the Universal Cheerleaders Association in 2023 and the National Cheerleading Association in 2025, and was named All-Star First Team in the OIA West.

Kochi chose HPU after seeing the Sharks perform at the cheer state championship and being captivated from the moment they stepped on the mat. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the beach and hiking. Looking ahead, she hopes to open her own full-service salon where people can feel good about themselves inside and out. She was born in Honolulu and is the daughter of Derek and Denise Kochi. Her older sister, Kolbi, plays softball at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
